The more I spend time with this image, I’m still not entirely sure if it should be included in The Ones That Didn’t Make It. But alas, here we are.
At this point, I’m almost looking for things to complain about in these images. While it’s important to be self-critical and make sure you’re putting up your best work, there’s a limit to that.
So, I suppose this one is still in limbo. neither one that didn’t make it, or one that did.
The way this photograph looks is almost painterly. It’s not heavily processed, it has just long enough shutter speed to slightly blur the mist and steam, and there’s interest throughout the whole image. If anything, this is a better version of #38.
As of now, this is a photograph that I’ll be keeping for myself and I may one day sell as a limited edition (so don’t expect a cheap price).
You know, for a mid-day landscape photograph, this isn’t half-bad, is it?
