Polaroids is an ongoing exploration of memory and place. Using an SX-70 Polaroid camera, these moments are photographed sidecar to my other works. They serve as memories of my own life but memories of these places as they inevitably change over time. These photographs are installed as a grid with a random sequence, emphasizing the sporadic nature of memory, their gradual fading mimics that of our memories of these people and places.
The exhibition of Polaroids is installed in varying sizes. The polaroids are shuffled and spaced 2” apart from each other and randomly placed on the wall. The number of polaroids in the installation is adjusted to the needs of the venue.
A selection of this installation was featured in East Manning Project’s Hot Toddy exhibition
