Lingering

2023

Lingering was made using radio frequency recordings of an airplane TV screen, contact microphone recordings of an airplane window, and field recordings of rain and the airport terminal. This piece ends up being somewhat musical with the chord made with re-pitched radio frequency recordings while also environmental with the use of the percussive sampling of these recordings laid under the stereo-spread channels of field recordings.

Dissonance

2023

This piece was made using recordings around my home using a contact microphone and telephone pickup coil.

This piece was featured in SOUND IN SPACE, SOUND IN PLACE at the New Bedford Art Museum held between April 13 and June 4

Perennial

2021 to 2023

This piece was made using sound recordings taken while making the photographs for Perennial, which was made as part of my MFA thesis for University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2023. Layered under the composed field recordings is a drone made from sonically interpreting on of the photographs in the series using a digital instrument “Harsh Digital Noise.”

This piece was played as part of the installation of the work during the MFA exhibition at UMass Dartmouth between March 28 and May 13, 2023.
