Midwestern Mundane

2016

This was my first full series as a photo major at Illinois State University. I was initially attracted to the geometry of the architecture in Central Illinois and took on inspiration from the New Topographics exhibition and looked extensively at Lewis Baltz and Robert Adams for sources. There were many technical issues in developing leading to bubbles and swirly skies, but I still look back on these photos fondly. I learned a lot as a freshly minted photo major through this project.
