Polaroids

The Polaroids photographs I have been making ride passenger to all of my work. Many of these photographs were made while on shoots for other series I have made, in addition to family and friend visits. I find these photographs as many people do for instant pictures — physical manifestations of memory. To my mind’s eye, I feel not only an emotional attachment to these pictures, but the places too. The ones that I drove through, made a pit-stop at, that I would only be living in for a year or less. Then the people, those close to me that have supported me and been around for years (not to forget my family who have quite literally been there since my beginning). These Polaroids live in an archival box, always waiting to be displayed in an installation. Whether it be a small model of a living room or a vast grid on a white gallery wall, the Polaroids do their work to show the viewer a glimpse into my memory of the places I move through.
